Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU)* was founded in 2006 as a joint venture between Xi’an Jiaotong University, China, and the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom. Laureate has formed a strategic alliance with XJTLU focusing on international collaboration and ongoing educational opportunities. XJTLU is a research-based university, offering undergraduate degree programs and graduate programs to more than 5,000 students at its campus in the ancient city of Suzhou.

XJTLU holds its Tier 1 University accreditation, which is among the most respected in China.
Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University was one of the first international joint ventures of a leading Chinese and international university to be approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education. In 2011, XJTLU was awarded the title of "The most influential Sino-Foreign Higher Education Institution in China" at the Fourth China Education Annual Gala.
