The Higher Institute for Power and Water Technologies (HIWPT). Founded in 2011 and based in Rabigh, Saudi Arabia, HIWPT is a public-private initiative launched by the government of Saudi Arabia to meet the increasing demand for Saudi nationals in the power and water industry. HIWPT is operated by Laureate through a joint venture with Obeikan Research and Development, one of the largest industrial groups in Saudi Arabia.

HIWPT offers two year programs specializing in power plant and desalinization operations, instrument and control technicians, mechanical maintenance, and electrical maintenance.
The institute is accredited by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Labour (TVTC).
