More than 7,000 students at Universidad Privada del Norte (UPN) are spread between two campuses in Trujillo and Cajamarca. A third campus is being built in Lima. The school, founded in 1994, educates leaders through high-quality programs based on an entrepreneurial spirit, global focus, and humanistic approach.
Instituto Tecnológico del Norte (ITN) works in close cooperation with UPN as a part of the Laureate International Universities network. Established in 1984, ITN provides Business Administration, Graphic Design, and Information Technology degree programs. ITN was the first institution accredited by the Peruvian Ministry of Education in La Libertad.

Students of UPN can obtain undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate degrees in Accounting and Finance, Architecture, Communications, Engineering (Civil, Industrial, and Systems), International Business, Law, Management, Marketing, Psychology, and Tourism. The university’s doctorate in law is among its most recognized programs.
UPN was authorized by an act of the Peruvian Congress.
