More than 26,700 students study at the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas' (UPC) two campuses in Lima, Peru,which opened in 1994. Since its establishment, UPC has been recognized for its innovation and academic excellence. The school recently received a license to open a medical school.

Students at the university earn undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees in UPC’s Architecture, Business, Communications, Economics, Engineering, Medicine and Health Sciences, Hospitality Management, Law, and Psychology programs.
Of its many programs, UPC’s working-adult bachelor’s and master’s programs in medicine are among its most highly regarded. UPC also offers notable dual-degree programs with Laureate International Universities partner institutions such as M.B.A., master’s in Business Law, and a master’s in Project Management.
The University’s programs have been authorized by the Peruvian Congress and currently hold the highest level of recognition in Peru.
UPC contributions to the community include a business plan competition for the disabled and the the Creatividad Empresarial contest. In addition, UPC is a technical secretariat of the certification ISO 26.000 (guidelines for how businesses and organizations can operate in a socially responsible way) and operates the
YouthActionNet® Premio Protagonistas del Cambio UPC (Champions of Change) awards program for social entrepreneurs in partnership with the International Youth Foundation and the Sylvan/Laureate Foundation.
Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas is ranked among the leading private institutions of higher education in Peru according to a study by Handsearch and was awarded the Marketing Hall of Fame Award in 2008.
