Since its founding in 1960, Universidad del Valle de México (UVM), has become a leader in higher education and today is one of Mexico’s leading universities. Academic areas include the Arts and Humanities, Economics/Business Administration, Engineering, Health Sciences, and Social Sciences. Students earn degrees and certificates in high school, undergraduate (traditional and working adult), graduate, and Master’s degree programs.
Of special note are UVM’s seven medical schools and its wide-ranging working-adult executive undergraduate and master’s programs. UVM students can enroll in dual degree programs with Laureate International Universities partner institutions including École Supérieure du Commerce Extérieur (France), Glion Institute of Higher Education (Switzerland), Universidad Europea de Madrid (Spain), and Walden University (United States).
UVM has earned accreditation from the Secretary of Public Education, Federation of Mexican Private Institutions of Higher Education, National Association of Universities and Institutions of Higher Education, and the Council for Accreditation of Higher Education.
Social responsibility is embedded within the culture of the UVM community and is visible in the José Ortega Romero Foundation, the Institutional Center for Values, and the YouthActionNet® Premio UVM por el Desarrollo Social/UVM Award for Social Development for social entrepreneurs in partnership with the Sylvan/Laureate Foundation and the International Youth Foundation.
