Escuela Moderna de Música (EMM) was founded in 1940 by a group of young musicians who wanted to create formalized training for future musicians. In 1989, EMM became an Instituto Profesional and earned autonomy in 2004. Today, the Instituto Profesional Escuela Moderna de Música is one of the most respected educational institutions in the field of music and dance in Chile, with graduates from their programs playing key roles in both national and international circles. The Instituto serves more than 1,200 students in certificate, undergraduate, and graduate programs through locations in Santiago and Viña del Mar.
