Escuela Moderna de Música (EMM) was founded in 1940 by a group of young musicians who wanted to provide formal training for future musicians. In 1989, EMM became an Instituto Profesional and earned autonomy in 2004. Today, the Instituto Profesional Escuela Moderna de Música is one of the most respected educational institutions in the fields of music and dance in Chile, and its graduates play key roles nationally and internationally. The institute serves more than 1,200 students in certificate, undergraduate and graduate programs at campuses in Santiago and Viña del Mar.
