The institution adopted its new name in 2012 to reflect the growth and development of the institution. More than 4,000 students are enrolled on its three campuses in Porto Alegre, Southern Brazil.

Undergraduate and graduate degrees are offered in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Law, Psychology, Quality Management, Systems Analysis and Development, Marketing, and Nursing. FADERGS is noted for its centers for family businesses, entrepreneurship and leadership, career development, and cultural ventures management programs.

The school is accredited by the Brazilian Ministry of Education.

FADERGS operates EMPRETEC, an entrepreneurship program sponsored by the United Nations, and a Legal Support Center.
