Established in 1994, Centro Universitário do Norte (UNINORTE) offers students academic programs that ensure the development of the values, skills, and knowledge needed for success in the Brazilian job market. It operates on its campus in Manaus, Northern Brazil where 30,000 students are enrolled.

UNINORTE students pursue undergraduate and graduate degrees in Health Sciences, Human Sciences, Social Sciences, and Technology. Of note are the institution’s distance learning capabilities, research centers, and master’s programs in association with Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro, Universidade Federal de Pernambuco, and Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina.
UNINORTE is accredited by the Brazilian Ministry of Education.
UNINORTE operates legal and psychology clinics, as well as Empresa Júnior, an initiative to promote small businesses. The university community partners with local nongovernmental organizations for literacy and environmental education projects.
