University of Petroleum and Energy Student Organization Wins Global Recognition

Yash Dwivedi, a student of BBA Oil and Gas at UPES has prepared a business plan for the launch of a company based on the generation of green non-conventional source of energy. His startup, “Turnout Energies”, proposes an innovative system that can be placed under floors to convert the pressure exerted by footsteps directly into electrical energy and can be used to power electrical appliances.

Dwivedi has worked enthusiastically to develop his idea into a viable business model and has had many opportunities to showcase his business idea around the country, including a presentation of his business model to Harish Rawat, Chief Minister of Uttarakhand.

Among other recognitions, his business plan came in first place in the National Business Plan Competition organized by IMS Unison, Dehradun; his project obtained third place in the Kamala Nehru Business Plan competition organized by Delhi University, obtaining one of three top spots in the B-Plan Business Competition held at the Indian School of Business and Finance in New Delhi.
