In 2006, the Sylvan/Laureate Foundation joined with the International Youth Foundation to launch the YouthActionNet® program at Laureate universities around the world. The program recognizes and supports the work of young social entrepreneurs.

Through the Laureate-based YouthActionNet® programs, over 400 young social entrepreneurs in Mexico, Spain, Brazil, Turkey, Chile and Peru have received funding, training and networking support to promote positive social change in their communities. This year, a Central American regional program, led by Universidad Latina de Costa Rica and UNITEC Honduras, will recognize an additional 10 social entrepreneurs.
