Established in 2005 by President Bill Clinton, the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) convenes global leaders to devise and implement innovative solutions to some of the world's most pressing challenges. 

Laureate has made global commitments to the CGI and has sponsored CGI Annual Meetings since 2008. We have actively participated in special events sponsored by CGI, like the CGI Americas which has focused on ways to create jobs and help the world recover the recent global recession. Laureate has also sponsored and sent students to the Clinton Global Initiative University, which President Clinton created in 2007 to engage the next generation of leaders on college campuses around the world.
