Ricardo Berckemeyer is Chief Executive Officer of Laureate's Andean Region. He has guided the expansion of the Laureate network in South America since 2002, when he joined the company after serving as vice president for Latin America for Citigroup Global Insurance. 

Prior to his role with Citigroup, Mr. Berckemeyer was director of global business development mergers and acquisitions for Aetna International. 

Mr. Berckemeyer earned his M.B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his B.A. in economics from Universidad del Pacifico, Lima, Peru.
